Privacy Policy

Honeydew is a household task and rewards app for couples. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to run the service:

• Account information: email address, display name, and the role you choose (List Maker or Task Doer).
• User-generated content: task titles, grocery item names, reward names and descriptions, and point totals. This is content you choose to enter.
• Usage data: timestamps for when items are created or completed. We do not use behavioral analytics or advertising trackers.

We do not collect your location, payment information, phone number, contacts, photos, or any other device data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide the Honeydew service:

• To authenticate you and maintain your account.
• To sync tasks, grocery items, rewards, and points between you and your partner in real time.
• To send a one-time pairing email if you invite your partner by email address (delivered via Resend; no marketing emails are sent).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Your data is processed by the following sub-processors solely to operate the service:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC, United States) — Authentication, database (Firestore), and app hosting. Data is stored in Google's cloud infrastructure. Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Resend (Resend Inc., United States) — Transactional email delivery for partner pairing invitations only. Resend Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Settings → Delete Account), your profile and all associated personal data are permanently removed from our database immediately. Your partner's account is unlinked but their own data is not affected.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — all data you've entered is visible within the app.
• Delete your account and data — available at any time from Settings → Delete Account.
• Correct your information — contact us and we will update it.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Please contact us to exercise them.

6. Children's Privacy

Honeydew is intended for use by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled entirely by Google Firebase Authentication, which uses industry-standard security practices. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Access to your household data is enforced by Firestore security rules that restrict reads and writes to paired household members only.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
