How can we help? 🍈

Find answers to common questions, learn how Honeydew works, and get in touch if you need more help.

🔗 Quick Links
🚀 Getting Started
  1. Download the app. Honeydew is available on the App Store and Google Play.

  2. Create an account. Sign up with your email address and choose a password. Enter your display name when prompted.

  3. Choose your role. Select List Maker (you create tasks & rewards) or Task Doer (you complete tasks & earn points). You can switch roles later.

  4. Pair with your partner. The List Maker receives a 6-character invite code and a shareable link. Send it to your partner so they can join your household. If you're the Task Doer, enter the code or open the link your partner shared.

  5. Explore together! Once paired, both partners see real-time updates. The List Maker adds tasks and rewards; the Task Doer completes them and earns Honeydew Points.

Not ready to pair yet? Tap Skip on the pairing screen to enter Demo Mode and explore the app with sample data.

👥 Roles Explained

Honeydew has two roles — and either partner can switch roles at any time using the role-switch button in the app header.

📝 List Maker

  • Create tasks & to-dos
  • Add grocery items
  • Build a custom Rewards Shop
  • Approve & fulfill redemptions
  • Manage the household list

✅ Task Doer

  • Check off tasks & groceries
  • Earn Honeydew Points
  • Browse the Rewards Shop
  • Redeem points for rewards
  • Track your points balance
⭐ Points & Rewards

The Task Doer earns Honeydew Points for completing items. Points are tracked in real time and never expire.

Action Points Earned
Complete a task ✅ +5 pts
Complete a grocery item 🛒 +1 pt
Redeem a reward 🎁 Points deducted (cost set by List Maker)

The List Maker sets the point cost for each reward (1–100 pts). When the Task Doer redeems a reward, a notification is sent to the List Maker to fulfill it.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pair with my partner?

When the List Maker signs up, they receive a 6-character invite code and a shareable link in the pairing screen and in Settings. Share either with your partner. The Task Doer can enter the code manually or tap the link to be paired automatically.

Can I try the app before pairing?

Yes! Tap Skip on the pairing screen to enter Demo Mode. You'll get sample tasks, groceries, and rewards to explore. Demo data is local only and resets when you reload. You can pair with your partner at any time from Settings.

Can both partners see the same tasks in real time?

Yes. Once paired, all tasks, grocery items, rewards, and point updates sync instantly between both partners' devices. No refresh needed.

How do I switch roles?

Tap the role-switch pill in the app header (next to your points badge). Your role switches immediately. Either partner can switch independently at any time — no action required from the other person.

What tasks will I see as the Task Doer?

You'll see only the tasks and groceries that your partner (the List Maker) created for you. Completed items are moved to a separate section and crossed out.

Can I undo completing a task?

Yes. Tap a completed item to uncheck it. Your points balance will be adjusted automatically.

What happens when I redeem a reward?

Your points are deducted immediately and a pending redemption notification is sent to the List Maker. The List Maker can see all pending redemptions and mark them as fulfilled once they've delivered the reward.

How do I decouple from my partner?

Go to Settings → Decouple. This removes the household link for both partners. Your accounts remain active, but you'll each return to the pairing screen. Your individual point balance is preserved.

Can I use Honeydew on multiple devices?

Yes. Your account syncs across the iOS and Android apps. Sign in with the same email and password on any device.

Is Honeydew free?

Honeydew is free for one household (two partners) with unlimited tasks and rewards.

What data does Honeydew collect?

We collect only the information needed to run the app — your email address, display name, tasks, and points. We never sell your data. See our full Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?

To request account deletion, email us at honeydew@ggdata.net with the subject line "Delete my account" and the email address associated with your account. We will delete your data within 7 business days.

🔧 Troubleshooting

My partner's changes aren't appearing.

Check that both devices have an internet connection. Pull down on the list to refresh. If the problem persists, try logging out and back in.

My pairing code isn't working.

Pairing codes are 6 characters and case-insensitive. Make sure you're entering the code from the List Maker's account (the partner who signed up first). You can also try using the partner's email address instead of the code.

I can't see the pairing/invite code.

The invite code is shown on the List Maker's pairing screen after sign-up, and can also be found in Settings → Invite Partner at any time.

My points didn't update after completing a task.

Points update in real time but require an internet connection. Check your connection and wait a moment — the update should appear shortly. If it doesn't, try reloading the app.

I accidentally redeemed a reward I didn't mean to.

Contact your partner (the List Maker) — they can adjust points and manage pending redemptions from their dashboard. For further help, email us.

Notifications aren't arriving.

Go to your device's Settings → Notifications → Honeydew and make sure notifications are allowed. You may also need to allow notifications within the Honeydew app the first time you're prompted.

The app isn't loading or shows a blank screen.

Try closing and reopening the app. If using the web version, do a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac). If the issue continues, contact us.
